Today I’m hosting our third BUB Blab! Dawn Winkelmann of ezpz fun is joining us once again to share her great knowledge about feeding tools and gadgets that make great gifts. Join us to chat and ask questions or just watch or listen to gather some last minute ideas. There will be prizes too!
Dawn showed us some great stuff today! But you guys, I forgot to hit record until about half way through our chat. 🙁 I’m definitely kicking myself for that, but here are the gift ideas that Dawn shared:
Grip Baby Bottle Gripper by Cognikids – This tool is designed to hold a bottle and make it easier for babies to hold a bottle, establish feeding independence and achieve developmental milestones in feeding, fine motor and oral motor areas. This product is not available yet (as of 12/15) but you can sign up for notification when it comes out!
Mixed Pears Food Scissors – These scissors are easy for kids and adults to use to cut food into manageable bites or fun shapes. Dawn has tried LOTS of food scissors and these are her favorite ones! They have a blunt tip and come with a cover for storage and safety.
Indestructibles – These books are truly indestructible! They can be crumpled, chewed on, washed and bent, but they cannot be destroyed. They are non-toxic and perfectly safe for kids to mouth, but they also have a great book about food and eating called Baby Babble. It’s wonderful for establishing early vocabulary around feeding.
Raising A Happy, Healthy Eater – This fantastic book is written by an SLP and Pediatrician to give you the tools you need to raise adventurous eaters. A great parenting book, written around the feeding developmental process.
ezpz Mini Mat – It’s our favorite ezpz Happy Mat, only smaller! The mini mat is perfect for traveling, using in a restaurant, or on a high chair tray. The ezpz mats can be a part of your child’s feeding routine from their very first day of experience with solids.
Footer Family Foot Measure – This item is not directly related to feeding, but can be so helpful in measuring growth in children with feeding issues or special needs. Sometimes these kids don’t grow in weight or height as much as they grow in hands and feet – so this tool is wonderful for measuring that progress and keeping track of any child’s shoe size for online shopping.
